Jaynee LaVecchia will receive the 2022 NJSBF Medal of Honor

McCarter & English’s Jaynee LaVecchia is a 2022 Medal of Honor recipient from the New Jersey State Bar Foundation (NJSBF). The award is the NJSBF’s highest honor, given annually to two recipients who exemplify professional excellence, service to the legal community, and commitment to the citizens of New Jersey.

“I am thrilled to have been chosen to receive the New Jersey State Bar Foundation Medal of Honor,” LaVecchia said. “I have spent most of my legal career in various forms of public service, including 21 years in our state’s highest court. To have my services as a lawyer recognized by the Foundation, an organization dedicated to promoting pride in the law, in our legal system and in public service, is a great honour. It is a lesson in humility to receive this wonderful tribute for the work that I had the privilege of doing and for which the service itself was an honor. I thank the Foundation for recognizing me and including me in the company of the great lawyers of our Bar who have received this award.

LaVecchia was nominated by Governor Christine Todd to serve on the Supreme Court of New Jersey, a position she held for 21 years. She recently joined McCarter & English as an associate in the firm’s commercial litigation group.

LaVecchia will receive the award at the NJSBF Medals of Honor Dinner Sept. 20 in East Brunswick, NJ. More information about the award and the event is available on the NJSBF website.
