Obama’s shameful legacy plagues American politics – AMAC

AMAC Exclusive – By Andrew Abbott

Arguably, no president has taken office with more pomp and circumstance than Barack Obama. In 2008, political commentators compared him to a “god.” Supporters heralded his ascension to the White House as the dawning of a new era in American politics. Even foreign leaders have praised the senator for one term. The hyperbole reached such a fever pitch that he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize only nine months into his first term as president, for no particular achievement.

Yet since Obama left office in 2016, a litany of scandals have emerged around his presidency that confirm what conservatives have long believed – the media’s rosy portrayal of the 44th president’s tenure was far from reality. Despite Obama repeatedly calling his own administration the most “scandal-free” in history, over time it has become clear that his legacy is in fact marred by some of the most scandalous political corruption scandals. serious stories – many of which continue to plague our politics to this day.

  1. Biden hunter

As early as 2008, the Obamas country recognized that Hunter Biden would be a problem. From 2000 to 2008, Hunter had a lucrative Congress lobbying to add earmarks to legislation that would benefit his clients and make him wealthy in the process. While the White House claimed Hunter never relied on his father’s influence to get deals done, one of his clients summed it up nicely by saying that Hunter had “a really strong last name that really stood out. paid off in terms of our lobbying efforts”.

After coming under indirect pressure from the Obama campaign, Hunter shut down the firm, but immediately launched a new one which, in 2012, did business with Chinese private equity funds that had direct ties to the Chinese government. In 2013, he even joined his father on a flight to China to do business with foreign nationals. According to a reportseveral staff members feared a potential conflict of interest with the Vice President.

Just this week, a sound surfaced in which Hunter is heard bragging that he can get his dad to take any political stance he wants.

When Hunter expanded his business interests into Ukraine, then-State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki fired concerns because Hunter was a “private citizen”. In several interviews, several Obama officials said, at a minimum, that his work was “questionable.” Yet there is no record of Barack Obama ever taking substantial steps to end these “dubious” conflicts, although it is impossible to believe that he was unaware of the formation of his own vice-president’s family on access to the administration. Hunter’s questionable business dealings, combined with the shocking revelations from his laptop, all suggest that Obama must have known something was wrong with Hunter and chose to look the other way.

2. The Hillary Clinton Email Scandal

As Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton had access to some of the most classified documents in the country. Yet she knowingly endangered national security by keeping sensitive emails in a personal account”homebrew” mail server. Although she found several Top Secret emails on her server, which she denied having, the FBI refused to charge her.

Obama was repeatedly questioned about these emails and consistently claimed that he found out about the server “at the same time everyone found out, through news reports.” Yet, according to the inspector general’s report, Obama was one of more than a dozen government officials who regularly communicated with Clinton through that server. In fact, an FBI disclosure found that Obama had even used a “pseudonym” for many of their conversations, behavior that strongly suggested he knew there was something wrong with Clinton’s emails.

3. The tax scandal

In 2010, Catherine Engelbrecht applied for the tax-exempt status of two organizations, “True the Vote” and “King Street Patriots”, both dedicated to promoting the principles of the Tea Party movement. Then, over the next two years, she and her family faced unprecedented attacks and investigations from the federal government, including multiple audits of her company, an investigation by the ATF, and even audits of her and her husband. His nonprofit was one of dozens of groups being aggressively investigated by the IRS for no reason other than having “tea party” or “patriot” in their names.

When President Obama first responded to the IRS targeting allegations, he fired as “outrageous” and a naked partisan attack. However, once a congressional investigation provided compelling evidence, he reluctantly allowed Acting IRS Commissioner Steven T. Miller to resign, apparently an admission of wrongdoing. Yet when the architect of the scandal, Lois Lerner, argued the fifth before Congress, Obama made no attempt to press the issue. He basically let her off the hook after she weaponized the IRS for political purposes, strongly suggesting it was done with the sanction of higher officials than Lois Learner. To this day, the IRS’ abuse of governmental power under President Obama has gone unpunished, even as it destroyed the lives of hundreds of law-abiding American citizens.

4. Steele dossier/Russian hoax

Much has been said about the blatant partisan bias demonstrated by the mainstream media and intelligence community in regards to the “Trump-Russian collusion hoax”. Yet most accusations and statements explicitly omit the genesis of the aforementioned hoax. Where did the lie start and why has no one stopped it?

In August 2016, according to CIA officials, President Barack Obama was made aware of the now infamous “Steele dossier”. Yet only a year later, former CIA director John Brennan would testify that “it was not part of the body of Intel information that we had…it was in no way used as a basis.” If it wasn’t verified or relevant to the investigation, why was Obama “told” about it? Moreover, under Obama, the intelligence community falsified surveillance apps, illegally trapped, and even attempted to imprison Trump advisers and aides. In 2020, a bipartisan commission found that Obama’s handling of “Russia-gate” had “a lot defaults.”

Although Special Counsel John Durham has yet to release his long-awaited report, the preliminary findings are damning for the Obama administration. As a direct result of his investigation, the American public now knows that much, if not all, of the “Russia-Trump collusion” narrative was a disinformation campaign designed by the Clinton administration to undermine the legitimacy of the presidency. Trump. In 2016, then-President Obama was directly informed by CIA Director John Brennan that the Clinton campaign was doing this, but made no effort to stop it. In fact, Obama appeared to activate the hoax by allowing the FBI to spy on Trump’s campaign, and then discussed General Michael Flynn’s prosecution under Logan’s Law (something completely unknown) in the Oval Office.

If Obama were just a private citizen, then revisiting his legacy would be a largely academic endeavor. Yet Obama was one of Biden’s most effective supporters in the 2020 election. He is currently campaigning, stumping for other vulnerable Democrats, and will likely be a critical figure in Biden’s 2024 re-election campaign. Americans should ask themselves: Why is it that almost every major scandal currently eating up American politics leads back to Barack Obama? ?
