US media thinks it’s their ‘right’ to crack down on ‘Biden family corruption’

Broadcasting and social media entities do indeed believe it is their right and duty to “tip the scales” of information and therefore of democracy, says author Douglas Murray.

US political commentator Bill Maher has called out filmmaker Rob Reiner over the Hunter Biden laptop story following recent comments by Sam Harris suggesting a plot to suppress the story to influence the presidential election of 2020.

Mr Reiner’s response in the exchange showed that he appeared to ignore Sam Harris’ claim, despite its wide publication.

Mr Murray said the response was typical of people on the American left stuck in their own “information bubble”.

“What we saw right there was someone (who) just didn’t know a very important story that was going on,” he said.

“I just didn’t know that in 2020 a massive conspiracy had indeed been organized by powerful media companies, by social media companies – and we now know that with the request of the FBI, a massive story about the Biden family corruption should be hidden from the American public. of the election”.

Mr Murray said Bill Maher’s exchange with Rob Reiner “revealed” how some people think “it is right to effectively get our hands on the levers of information and change the scales”.

“That is indeed what we are seeing,” he said.
